Subject: Re: What Happen To Fruity Kabinetts? |
| Dear Raymond, I don't believe that Kabinetts are affected by the Erste Lage regulations. Kabinett made from Erste Lage sites would not be labeled as Erste Lage. Best, John Trombley In a message dated 9/27/2006 8:57:05 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, raymd@singnet.com.sg writes: The Key Changes in 2006 published by VDP recently for The Wine Law of 1971 reads: >>> VDP ERSTE LAGE is the uniform umbrella term in all regions for all wines of the top category. >>> VDP ERSTE LAGE dry wines are denoted as Grosses Gewächs (great growths) >>> VDP ERSTE LAGE fruity wines with natural sweetness are denoted by the traditional Prädikats, from Spätlese and Auslese to Trockenbeerenauslese. How is a fruity Kabinett classified?
