Agree!

BUT: if you were a Chateau-owner in Bordeaux - and all bottles of vintage
2000 - despite much higher prices than in 1999 - have been sold out like
"hot dogs" very quickly ....

.. if you lowered the prices for 2001 and 2002 significantly due to lesser
quality ... and you´ve still got a lot of bottles to sell ....

.... and if in spring 2004 your phone and PC runs hot from all the requests
for bottles of vintage 2003 - even before you have released your prices
(which eventually were higher than 2000) ... all due to the euphoric press
hype ... and all sold very fast ....

... and if the future-business for vintage 2004 went very slow although
you´ve lowerd the prices again on the 2001/02-level - and you´ve still got
30% of your harvest to sell ...

.... and when in spring 2006 the phone and PC ran hot with requests for your
whole harvest of 2005 due to euphoric press-resonances .....

.... WOULD YOU RAISE YOUR FUTURE PRICES again, perhaps higher than ever ?
- or would you go back to 1999 pricing level ?

The problem is that there are so many people all over the world with a lot
of money - and for them price is absolutely no issue, the question is
simply: WANNA HAVE - OK BUY!

Wine-makers are humans - and usually no fools - so it is the fault of the
consumers to pay the high prices, not the fault of the wine-makers to ask
for ...

That´s why I did not buy one single bottle of Bordeaux 2005 as futures!

Gerhard
