| Peter, I live in Ireland - we don't produce wine. There is little understanding of German wine here. I get my German wines from the Mittelrhein (Bastian, Jost, Kauer), the Rheingau (Kunstler) and the Ahr (Nelles). I am afraid that it is now necessary to drive - a long drive with two sea crossings - to these areas and replenish my stocks. Great idea! I already participate in the very active tasting group in Köl n whenever I can - if we started an English-language tasting group in Germany that could be quite fun. And we could rotate meetings as each of us probably lives close to a wine-growing area - You show me Fellbach and I'll show you Boppard, etc. But, yes, let's wait for some more stimulating weather, when one can also visit a vineyard. There was also a comment earlier in this thread about the complications of German wine laws. I've given up on this count. Gus, thanks for the new Internet reference to Toni Jost.
