Where a producer has no homepage, you should still be able to find some information on them in the German wine guide on Wein-Plus. Also, there is now an English-language version of the print guide Gault-Millau (ISBN 3-88472-675-7). This area, of course, is almost totally dedicated to Riesling, with steep slopes and slate soils very similar to the northern Mosel. Halbtrocken wines abound, and the prices are very moderate indeed. Sort of a Riesling lover's paradise. If you are in the area, let me know, and we can share some interesting wines.
