Subject: Re: GERMAN CLASSIFICATION - PUZZLE!!

Must admit, I'm with this gentleman. My German is'nt the best in the world,
but everytime I now visit the Moselle region I have to catch up with the re
diculous speed of change in categories. The law is over complicated and it
seems to me that the producers, who need some legislative guidance, should be
allowed to make their own decisions on the quality of the wine they choose to
produce. I know who I'm happy buying off. Pressumably everybody else has their
favourite producers as well. Those that fail to produce good wines will loose
their market. Let the market decide as it has regarding the rubbish sweeter
blends in this country. Germany really has missed the boat in Britain
regarding its high quality dry and sweeter wines.

Let the market sort itself out without over legislating. Back to the basic
principles really, the quality of sites and experience of growers will set the
standards, not well meaning legislators.
