| Hi Marilyn Thanks for your reply. What you said is right. Fortunately, Blue Nun has almost disappeared from our supermarket shelves though I can still see a couple of Black Towers. Apparently, the producers are striving to raise the standard of these low quality wines. Reckon, your trip to the Rhine region must be a memorable one. In some of the website pictures, I notice the slopes on which the vines are grown are rather steep. No wonder the berries are harvested by hand. You're luckier than I am. I do my traveling to wine regions on TV with Kevin Brauch - Thirsty Traveler. Nice chatting with you. My husband says , "Nothing in a blue bottle , please!!" > But in defense of the better ones we are able to buy here in Alabama, I have to say some are very good. We have made two trips to Germany to the Mosel and Rhine wine producing areas. We also had some great wine and some not so great there. So, I think it has much to do with the particular wine and not so much to do with the wine as a whole. I certainly hope the area continue to produce that wonderful wine- just let the buyer beware that there are bad ones out there as well as the good ones. As in all wine tasting , it is up to the individual to develope a standard > of acceptable and unacceptable wines based on his own preference. I say, "If you like it , buy it !" > > Marilyn |
