Subject: Austrian Night at VinoVenue in San Francisco - March 8th |
Austrian Night at VinoVenue in San Francisco Tuesday, March 8, 4:30 - 7:30 pm Meet Johann Donabaum and Franz Josef Gritsch. These young men are really interesting: both are 26, went to the famous wine school in Krems, and have now taken over their own long-standing family wineries. Donabaum has been on the "best up-and-coming" list in the Wine Report for the past two years, and Gritsch was on it this year. Both make wines that are already scoring in the low-to-mid 90's, and Donabaum won the Falstaff "Gruner Veltliner Cup" in 2003, besting out some of the most respected names in the country. This is their first visit to the US, and their wines will be making their California debut at VinoVenue. Don't miss out on the chance to meet these energetic young winemakers. $5 per person. The wines they will be pouring: Donabaum Loibner Garden Gruner Veltliner Smaragd 2002 Donabaum Spitzer Point Reserve Gruner Veltliner 2001 Gritsch Mauritiushof 1000-Eimerberg Riesling Smaragd 2003 Gritsch Axpoint Gruner Veltliner Federspiel 2003 Gritsch Mauritiushof 1000-Eimerberg Neuburger Select 2003 VinoVenue 686 Mission Street San Francisco, CA. www.vinovenue.net www.winemonger.com This message was created using the Web-based forum : www.wein-plus.com/forum/ |
