This wine estate in the city of Krems is located in the Kremstal growing area in Lower Austria. The family has been making wine here for more than 200 years, with the ninth generation currently at the helm. Wines are produced in accordance with the strict guidelines of controlled and integrated sustainable growth (KIP). The vineyard area totals 7.5 hectares, and are spread over the vineyard sites Frechau, Sandgrube, Thalland and Weinzierlberg. More than 80% of the vines bear white varieties: Grüner Veltliner (more than 50% of the total area), Riesling, Chardonnay and Gelber Muskatteller, while the 20% planted to red varieties include mostly Blauburger and Zweigelt. The wines are almost all made in a dry or in a fruity style. There is a green harvest, which culls around a third of potential production. The premium wines include Grüner Veltliner Privatfüllung Sandgrube, Chardonnay Sandgrube, Grüner Veltliner Weinzierlberg and Riesling Weinzierlberg. Annual production is approximately 40 000 bottles. Spirits are also produced. The wine estate is a member of the Winzervereinigung Kremser Wein association.
