The estate is located in Stammersdorf, part of the 21st precinct, Floridsdorf, in the North-West of the Austrian capital Vienna. It is run by Renate and Ing. Leopold Klager, the third generation in the family to do so. A wine bar and restaurant are attached, providing a garden and playground for children. Leopold Klager was a founding member of the Vienna Classic association, and the estate is also a member of this group. The vineyard area totals six hectares, with holdings in the Obere junge Berg, Gabrissen, Breiten, Gritschen and Neusätzen sites. 70% of the area is planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Müller-Thurgau, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, as well as parcels with a vineyard blend, the remainder is planted with the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Integrated organic vineyard practices are implemented, without chemical fertilisers, and using beneficial insects. The white wines are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the red wines undergo malo-lactic fermentation and are then matured in either large oak vats or in small oak barrels. The red wines are only released for sale in the May of the second year after the vintage. The premium wines include the Chardonnay Beste Trauben, Grüner Veltliner Beste Trauben, Riesling Beste Trauben and Wiener Zweigelt (a blanc de noir is also available of this). Spirits are also produced (apricot-based, and Veltliner brandy matured in oak), as are several bottle-matured sparkling wines (Vienna Classic Sekt Brut, Riesling Gabrie Brut and Zweigelt Albino Brut).
