The estate is located in the village of Mörbisch am See in the Neusiedlersee-Hügelland wine-growing region in Burgenland in Austria. Owner Günther Schönberger came to winemaking late in life, he was once a member of the musical group EAV, he then spent time gaining practical experience in various cellars in Austria, Germany and France, and only became involved with his own estate in 1991, producing his first wine in 1992. Organic, bio-dynamic principles are strictly enforced in the vineyards, the estate is a member of the Bio Ernte Austria association. All work in the vineyards and in the cellar is carried out with due consideration of the phases of the moon. The vineyard area totals 13 hectares. 50% of this area is planted with the red varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Merlot, the remaining 50% is planted with the white varieties Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Muskat-Ottonel and Neuburger. The premium wines include the flagship product, the Chardonnay Schönberger, as well as the Schönberger (Blaufränkisch Merlot), Herbstcuvée weiß (autumn blend white - Chardonnay, Neuburger), Herbstcuvée rot (autumn blend red - Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt) and Welschriesling Prädikate (sweet botrytis wines).
